Thank you America's Heartland! You all did a wonderful job capturing and telling the story of our family's farming journey to-date and the plans for its continued success beyond its founding. Well done! Sincerely, Sam Cobb, Sam Cobb Farms

Only the BEST dates ever!
I just bit down on a twig that was in my package of pistachios. Company: Wonderful Pistachios. I need to contact them about this. As for the Hermans and their farm -- I notice that their farm labor is Mexican and possibly Central American. How are those employees treated? Are they able to set aside money for other things besides basic living expenses?
They are doing incredible work at that farm and food bank. Good for them and thanks for the video.
Thanks so much for watching! So glad you enjoyed the episode! 😊
Another heart warming episode.

Anything that gets Amtrak away from pressing a button on a microwave as a cooking technique is a good move.
Beautiful ❤
We usually get new Medjool dates from California shipped to the east coast around March/April every year. I always try to buy a big box, portion into smaller bags and store in the freezer. They still can never last longer than a couple months haha.
Great story!! Watching this makes me want to learn!!!
Wow that is awesome way to go Sam . Well done starting out on something unique to America. Hope I get to try Cali dates, then my usual Persian .
Yum prunes. A Beautiful lineage to pass down , thank goodness the daughters are willing to keep the legacy going .
What a fantastic idea to start with , way to go Sacramento!! Tho teaching basic nutrition and portion management would help the healthy farm to table message. When I was in middle school in the 80s you had agriculture day. The kids that didn’t have pets got to have a 1.5M garden plot often in pairs . That taught me not only to grow , compost , seed save but to cook what we grew . Later in high school home economics taught me to budget , manage your books , house etc Cooking class taught me how to cook basic meals & to can produce . This helped me flatting then with my own family . They took the fundamentals out of school in the 90/2000 … Now we live in a society of Uber eats , very few know how to cook from scratch . Everything comes out of convenience , cans or packages, and people are bigger with huge health implications . What a sad indictment to leave our future legacy generations .
Sam & Maxine what a lovely story
Wanted the land when parents pass 😂

How about a marathon telethon to refund the defunded trades and for tradesmen from port A-Z…like a COLA (Cost Of Living Adjustment) that would promote and regulate that much…
Wow what beautiful creatures and a great business you have. I keep reading the positive benefits of beef fat for cooking in and consuming. It does not cause high cholesterol or make you fat and it my help protect your liver.
Update: the ethanol project never came to fruition. Over the years the site hosted many art installations, concerts, theatrical productions, and other interesting events that are difficult to classify. Rick opened, and is running a successful bar on the site. Part of the site is being developed into residential space. I was the production manager/ site electrician/ sound engineer for many events on the site. (note: my profile picture is of me mixing in one of the silos)
